棗 Tea caddy

The small lidded container in which the powdered tea is placed for use in the tea-making procedure

This is the implement used to mix the powdered tea with the hot water. Tea whisks are carved from a single piece of bamboo and quickly wear with use; the host will prepare a fresh one for formal gatherings.

茶碗 Tea bowl

The bowl in which matcha is prepared, admired, and gently sipped. Its weight, texture, and glaze are all part of the experience of tea.

茶巾 Tea cloth

A folded cloth used to purify utensils and keep the gestures precise. The way it is folded and handled is carefully choreographed.
